About Vārtānicayaḥ
Vārtānicayaḥ (वार्तानिचयः, "a collection of news") is India's first daily, Sanskrit-led multilingual newspaper, publishing accurate, impartial, world-class journalism in Sanskrit, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and English.
Our mission is to demonstrate that Sanskrit is a living language, fully capable of carrying the news of the modern world — politics, business, science, technology, sports, culture, religion and the arts.
We aggregate stories from leading wire services and reputed publications, and re-render them in five languages with a careful editorial pass. Each story carries a link back to its original source.
Our editorial principles
- Accuracy first — every story is sourced from publicly verifiable, reputable outlets.
- Impartial — we do not endorse parties or candidates.
- Transparent — every article links to its original source.
- Plural — we report from multiple perspectives wherever a story is contested.
Our team
Vārtānicayaḥ is published by an independent editorial desk based in India. We are a small team of Sanskritists, journalists and engineers committed to revitalising classical languages for the digital age.
